Lara Baksu works with sound, text, video and photography to explore new ways of storytelling. Images include states of omission or reflection, where bodies are subject to their emotions, connections and contexts.
She is interested in everyday interactions and how we “put” things together in our minds; how cultural systems influence human perception.
Baksu notes: “I like the idea of creating new realities and perspectives. One of the subjects I explore in my practice is how we are given specific thoughts about everything and how we tend to be shaped in a specific way, by systems created before our existence.”
