Dave Hull is a multiplane photographer. Upon gaining a BSc in Film and Television Production from Montana State University he embarked on an internship at Lucasfilm. Upon his return to Montana, Hull spent a number of years working on PC animated shorts, which led to the development of his multiplane photography.
The work is a union of creative and technical challenges: images are made by building objects on layers of glass; using depth of field and sculpting of light, the photographic process can take up to 50 hours to produce an image. Hull sells exhibition-quality prints and also works with numerous organisations to give lectures and undertake commissions.
