Penzance-based Ben Reader is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice includes paintings, prints, books as well as the invention and design of board games.
For the above image, Reader notes: “This is Dublin artist James Kirwan posing as Bacchus in a floral den, with his beard illuminated by a blue delphinium.”
Of the portrait of Emma Kennedy, Reader comments: “Miami painter, peering out of the tropics like a rangoon creeper in the Gucci bloom.”
The work shown above is “Lágrima, the Portuguese word for tear. The tiny droplet can be seen sparkling around Cornelius’s eye while the lobstolene headdress floats on the lapis lazuli.”
